Hale School is an Anglican school for boys from Pre-Primary to Year 12, offering world-renowned education and boarding opportunities. The school’s strong traditions of excellence, integrity and courage is evident through their teachings and educational experiences.
The Hale campus covers 48-hectares, and includes two swimming pools, several sporting facilities, a lecture theatre, music and drama centre, and a boarding school.
The school caters to over 1,500 students, providing modern classroom facilities and the latest technology. With such an energy-intensive site, Hale needed to look at ways that they could better manage their electricity costs. After extensive research and a thorough tender process, Infinite Energy were selected to design and install a 600kW solar PV system. The system is distributed across multiple buildings and required additional engineering design and installation to meet Western Power Technical Rules.
Installation took place during April and June 2019 school holidays to minimise disruption to the school’s activities. Consisting of 1,500 SunPower P Series panels, one of the most efficient and premium quality panels available on the market, the system will produce 975,000 kWh of clean energy every year. The decision to go solar highlights the school’s strong values in giving back to the community and finding innovative solutions to problems faced by society.
