West Australian AFL team and 2018 premiership winners, the West Coast Eagles, have had a renewable solution added to their training grounds at the newly renovated Mineral Resources Park in Lathlain. The facility boasts a 60 metre indoor training hall, gyms, lap pool and hydrotherapy pool, function rooms, media rooms, shop, museum and a café.
Infinite Energy has been partnering with the club since 2014 due to our aligned values of innovation, giving back to the community and working towards a more sustainable future.
Understanding the importance of finding an environmentally friendly alternative for their energy needs, the West Coast Eagles entrusted Infinite Energy to provide a solar solution for their new training grounds. The 291kW solar PV system is designed using premium SunPower E-series panels, some of the most efficient panels on the market. The system is expected to produce 512,678kWh of energy every year, providing a clean, renewable source of daytime power for the club.
The environmental benefits of solar were a key motivator for the installation, with the system expected to eliminate 369 tonnes of harmful CO2 annually, the equivalent reduction of planting 1,378 trees.
When asked how the football club found the experience going solar with Infinite Energy, West Coast Eagles legend Ross Glendinning, said "it was almost a no-brainer that we use Infinite. Their expertise, their experience and their local knowledge was just paramount ... sure there were some other people spoken to, but there's no question that Infinite Energy were going to provide what we required for this new building. The relationship we have with Infinite Energy, their staff led by Aidan Jenkins and Steve Richards, I think they are people of integrity, quality and they're also people of their word and so we think we're the same as a football club, so the two as two brands, two entities, two businesses, work together really well. We'd have no hesitation in recommending Infinite Energy for any solar requirement that a business or a private enterprise or a household would like to invest in".
