Wallis Drilling was established in 1964 and is still owned and managed by a well known drilling contractors, Wallis family. The Company has grown in size, capabilities and expertise over the years and now operates over 55 rigs of various capacities. With headquarters in Midvale, the Wallis drilling enterprise conducts operations over four sites, each with varying energy needs.
Infinite Energy was contacted by Wallis drilling on recommendation from other Infinite Energy clients to assist in improving energy consumption at its Midvale operation. As a top supplier to the blue-chip mining companies in WA, Wallis Drilling sought two benefits from Infinite Energy; energy cost reduction and environmental credentials in dealing with its suppliers.
Each of the operations buildings have varied needs and so a considered and highly detailed analysis of each recommendation was required. Working closely with Wallis’ MD, CFO and Operations Manager, Infinite Energy made specific system size recommendations for each building to maximise the opportunities and returns for the proposed exercise.
Wallis Drilling has, like many other businesses like it seen the opportunity that solar power represents and afforded itself a significant competitive advantage in the process.
